Housing and Weatherization

NMCAA works to improve homes in the area through different programs and services.  Funded by the Weatherization Assistance and Energy Crisis Intervention Programs (ECIP), the agency implements weatherization and home repair programs.  Weatherization measures include furnace testing and replacing insulation and caulking.  These procedures make the more more energy efficient and reduce the cost of bills, permitting more flexibility for a low-income budget.

Other agency efforts include the air-conditioning unit loans as well as minor home repairs.  All services provided are available to both renters and homeowners and are designed to aid in making families and homes safer, healthier and more comfortable.

NMCAA also strives to help the homeless.  Services include rent/utility deposits, one-time mortgage payments as well as referrals to public housing.

To apply for assistance, please contact your local NMCAA office.
