Head Start/Early Head Start Director

CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces a vacancy for the Head Start Director position. The Head Start/Early Head Start Director is responsible for providing managerial oversight and direction to the total Head Start/Early Head Start Program, consistent with agency policies and applicable Federal regulations, under the administrative direction of the Executive Director.
Education and experience requirements: Baccalaureate or advanced degree in a field related to social service, family development, communications or education. Two years related experience and/or training preferred.
Essential Qualities: Lead in the design, development, execution, promotion and reporting aspects of the program's services to families, children, the community and other partners. Lead the management team and make timely and appropriate management decisions. Develop and implement short and long-range goals and objectives. Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with public schools, community agencies and other stakeholders. Assist with preparation and development of program budgets and federal/state grant submissions. Ensure all program activities are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws pertaining to programmatic operations.
Other Requirements: Candidates must be able to pass a Child and Elder Care Worker background check. Candidates must participate in all required training. As a mandated reporter, must report any suspected cases of child abuse or neglect to the Missouri Child Abuse & Neglect hotline, following Missouri Law and current Agency procedures.
This position is full-time, with benefits including retirement.

A qualified applicant will have at a minimum a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in infant/toddler or an AA or better degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field). Head Start Teacher

The CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces a vacancy for a Teacher at our Kirksville site. This is a full-time, 9 month position with benefits, including retirement.
The Teacher instructs children in activities designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, day care center, or other child development facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include planning daily schedule and weekly plan, supporting the programs goals of the learning environment, assessment and individualization, health and safety, parent/family involvement, record keeping, and volunteers and community involvement (other duties may be assigned).
Education/experience: At least one of the following: 1) an associate, baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education, 2) an associate, baccalaureate or advanced degree in a field related to early childhood education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education (15 credit hours) with experience teaching preschool-age children; 3) a baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education with experience teaching preschool-age children.

Edina Head Start is seeking a center aide/bus aide. This position assists the bus driver in safely transporting the children to and from the Head Start center.
