History of this Location:

The Schuyler Head Start Center opened in its current location in August of 1994.  On February 24, 1999 Head Start purchased the building from Vance Myers.  The Schuyler center was originally a Rural Health Clinic operated by Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center (currently Northeast Regional).  This center runs 2 single session classrooms (8:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. & 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) serving children from several areas in Schuyler County.

 

 

Community Characteristics:

Population: 208.  Outside of the local grain elevator and the newspaper this small town has very little local employment.  Most residents travel outside the community for employment. 

 

 

Facilities Information:

CAPNEMO Head Start is in a contractual agreement with USDA Rural Development for a monthly payment of 712.00.  This payment also includes the monthly payment for the Schuyler Center.
